Darla's attitude has certainly changed since yesterday.

Just curious. why are the women in this world so butch and powerful looking?

Well, that's 'cause of two things I guess. The first is that the kinda of ladies I've got in this comic are among the sort (interests, looks, bodytypes) that are not often showcased in works of fiction. The second is that I truly and honestly have some difficulty drawing ladies.

Alsoomse (the tall native woman) has an abnornal bodytype because she's so tall and muscular, and that's due to a couple of things. She has always had a stocky frame genetically speaking, her professions in life have always been related to hard, physical labour, and she has this hardcore passion for exercise.

Stonehenge is a tough-as-nails leader figure with a strong personality, and I wanted her design to reflect that.

Darla and Diego are actually supposed to be more feminine, but even though a lot of that is lost to me not knowing how to draw them properly, keep in mind that none of these characters are meant to be conventionally attractive or appealing. People have so many different kinds of faces--and even though female faces vs male faces tend to lean towards certain characteristics (women: softer jaw, smaller nose, thinner brows. men: harder jawline, facial hair, thicker eyebrows, more pronounced brow/forehead, etc), such is not so for every face. I think people tend to forget that

oh god I ranted. so sorry. But yeah I think that pretty much covers it!

Thanks for the detailed response.
Yes, I think it is very interesting to see a world where the women are so much more masculine in general than in our world. I suppose it might become that way in a post apocalyptic society (I am assuming this world is post apocalyptic).
Lastly, I too have much more difficulty rendering female body types than male, and I think that is due to the fact that I am a male, and can relate to my own body type easier, it is more familiar to me.
Keep up the good work.

Saying that this place is post-apocalyptic is indeed a solid assumption to make.
Yeah, I feel ya. We'll probably get the hang of it some day though. Just gotta look at more pics of cute girls I guess.
Thank you, you as well.
