I'm very sorry for the wait on this page, folks! Like I said last week, my friend Bloombeard came to visit and I totally lost track of time. I'm kind of embarrassed. I even had a page finished ahead of time in case that happened--but I drew this scene all out of order, so the page I had done was the one after this. >:I

Anyway, I hope it was worth the wait. I'm very proud of how this scene turned out.

In other news, there is a chance that I'm going to switch to black and white pages at some point, and I want to know how you feel about that.

I'm unsatisfied with how long it takes me to colour pages, and I want to reach the end of Bicycle Boy sometime in the next 6 years. It's already taken 4 years to get this far. My comic pages got more complex & detailed since I started, so it takes a lot longer than it used to.

If I decide to make the switch, I'll finish the comic to the end, then circle back and colour it at my leisure. I might even hire people to help colour it at that point, if life circumstances allow. And there's a high possibility that with black and white, I'll be able to bump up my schedule to 2 pages a week. I'm not sure if I'd rather just draw b&w lines or do some level of greyscale work, but I'm still thinking about it.

So, let me know what you think.

Much love,

Good b&w can be colored later. Keep your sanity. You probably need it.

Man, this is really sad. A lot of people are hurting... :(

Still, I Ike the change in lighting. It helps to contrast the overwhelming feeling of agony. ^_^

Uuuhh this is so sad and horrifying ..but at least they get help.

I really love the coloring in your comic, but should it slow you down too much, then switching to black and white is the better solution :)

David, David... Sounds familiar. It's like I have heard that name before somewhere... hm...

Well, I do see the reason in reducing the workload, two pages a week is an appealing prospect, and I certainly would like to see this finished before... whatever. But damnit, colour! Bicycle Boy just wouldn't be the same in monochrome. The colour work is so good, and the the action is so reliant on blood being drawn, it won't work nearly so well without it. Just imagine a fight between colour!Darla and monochrome!Morris. Imagine how much damage colour!Darla would have to do to match the impact of a simple punch to the nose from monochrome!Morris...

colour!Darla: *wipes red blood from smashed nose* No need to imagine... *turns away from her prostrate and battered opponent*

monochrome!Morris: *lies covered in line-hatched bruises and black blood-streaks* uuuuugh... I feel like I've been worked over by the Comics Code Authority...
